Outpatient CT Referrals
We welcome outpatient CT referrals from referring veterinary surgeons.
Overview
We welcome outpatient CT referrals from referring veterinary surgeons. An outpatient CT may be recommended for pets who need to have advanced imaging that is critical for efficient and accurate diagnosis, planning treatment or surgical intervention. When a pet is referred for an outpatient CT, we collaborate closely with the referring vet to ensure that we understand the pet’s needs. After the CT, the referring vet will receive a full detailed report outlining the findings on the CT and follow-up recommendations when indicated.
Common indications for CT include:
- Orthopaedic issues to assess fractures, joint abnormalities or movement disorders
- Oncology patients where tumours need to be evaluated or staged to determine the next steps for medical or surgical treatment
- Neurology is a common need for a CT referral to identify spinal or brain lesions
- Soft tissue conditions to assess abnormalities in the abdomen, chest and other areas of the body
- Maxillofacial and dental disorders to provide detailed imaging of the mouth, teeth, jaw and sinus cavity.
Referring a pet for an outpatient CT is simple and efficient for both the referring vet and for the pet parent.
