When you leave your beloved pet in our care, we understand how much trust you’re placing in us. Our goal is to make this experience as smooth and comforting as possible for both you and your pet. Here’s a little look behind the scenes to show you how we ensure your pet receives the very best care every step of the way.
Entering the clinical area
As soon as your pet is escorted through to our prep area, we greet them with a calm, loving environment. We know that pets can feel anxious in new places and when you’re not there, so we make sure their first moments with us are filled with gentle attention and reassurance. Our team will have already taken the time to get to know your pet’s personality and preferences, making sure they feel as comfortable as possible.
Pre surgery
Before we begin any procedure, our team ensures that your pet is well-prepared. This includes a final check-up to confirm that they’re in good health for surgery. You can rest easy knowing that we’ll take every step to keep them comfortable and safe, from administering any necessary pre-surgery medication to setting them up in a quiet, safe space where they can relax before the procedure and are observed by our patient care assistant and the advanced nursing team.
During surgery
As humans, we know that surgery can feel overwhelming, but our skilled and compassionate surgical team is always ready to handle your pet with the utmost care. Throughout the entire procedure, we keep a close eye on their vitals and monitor their anesthesia levels. Our team is equipped with the latest technology to ensure that everything goes smoothly, and we’re here to offer you updates as needed.
Post surgery
Once the surgery is complete, your pet enters a dedicated recovery area where they can rest comfortably. We monitor them closely as they wake up from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort every step of the way. We’re there with gentle care to help them recover, keep them company, continue to monitor their vitals, administer pain medication to keep them comfortable and make sure you’re informed of their progress.
Keeping You Informed
Throughout the entire process, we want you to feel connected to your pet’s journey and appreciate how important it is that you’re kept informed. You’re welcome to contact the hospital and ask questions at any time, however, until the procedure is complete, it’s difficult for our reception team to provide you with accurate updates. That said, once our surgeons are out of theatre, their first priority is to contact you to let you know how everything went.
As with every surgery, it is not without its risks. If at any time during the surgery there is a concern, we’ll be transparent and contact you immediately, taking the time to explain everything and helping you to make the right decision for your pet. If we can’t contact you, we will do everything in the best interest of your pet at that time. We know how much your beloved pet means to you, and we take that responsibility seriously. From start to finish, we’re committed to providing your pet with the highest level of care, comfort and safety.
