Cardiology at NiVS sees pets for a variety of heart and circulatory system conditions and we are dedicated to diagnosing, treating and managing cardiac care to help patients live healthier lives.
Overview
Our cardiology nurse clinic also provides established patients with the convenience of seeing our dedicated cardiology nurse for repeat blood work, blood pressure checks or holter placement/removal.
Our cardiology department sees patients from all over Ireland and Northern Ireland, to offer minimally invasive surgical interventions, some of which are not offered by a specialist cardiologist in any other practice in Ireland.
Using state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment including echocardiography, holter monitoring and electrocardiography, our cardiologist can ensure that an accurate diagnosis is made and treatment options can be discussed.
For pets which require intervention procedures, we offer a variety of procedures including pacemaker implantation, tracheal stenting, PDA closure and balloon valvuloplasty.
Referrals are welcomed for the following:
- Heart murmurs
- Arrhythmias
- Exercise intolerance
- Syncope/collapse
- Coughing
- Congestive heart failure
- Pericardial effusion
- Puppy and kitten heart murmurs
- Heart disease screening for breeding/show animals.
